Bio

Wave after wave of dark icy waters…

Pushing and pulling with the tides.

Crashing into land… carried back out to sea…

Creating multitudes of waves.

Deep from the depths, a low warble emits…

A creature emerges

The waves start to rise…

The warble grows tighter

And the sirens begin their song.

Waves is a fresh new take on a classic effect: chorus.

It uses vintage bucket brigade delay chips to get a lush chorus tone while offering new and inspiring controls to create familiar but never heard before sounds! The main feature is the secondary oscillator which is controlled by the drift and rate 2 knobs. This allows you to dial in a chorus sound with pseudo-random wave shapes to pulsing heart beat like waves or even a ramping effect that slowly changes speed from slow to fast over time. The second main feature is the slow/fast switch which allows you to flip between two speeds on the fly very much like a Leslie speaker. Both foot-switches can be held down to momentarily activate or they can be tapped to latch like a standard pedal. This really gives the slow/fast switch an expression-pedal-like feel.

Controls

Rate 1: Controls the main speed of the chorus effect. This knob is useful for setting the minimum speed when the “Fast” switch is off.

Depth: Controls how much pitch bending is applied.

Rate 2: Controls the speed of the secondary LFO which controls how quickly the main LFO speeds up/slows down by. Very low settings will result in a pseudo Leslie style effect while higher settings result in odd patterns and irregular wave shapes.

Drift: Controls how much the main speed changes by, higher settings will result in a higher secondary speed, lower settings can be barely noticeable fluctuations in the rate.

Animation: Controls the wave shape and intensity of the chorus. Higher settings are more intense and abrupt like a square wave. Lower settings are more subtle and traditional sounding chorus waves.

Mix: A full 100% dry/100% wet mix knob to allow you to dial in the perfect blend of signals. Turn it all the way up for a vibrato effect, keep it in the middle for chorus or turn it all the way down to use this pedal as a glorified buffer.

Bypass: This switch allows you to turn the effect on or off, it features smart relay bypass circuitry allowing you to either tap the switch for normal latching functions or press and hold the switch for momentarily engaging the effect.

Fast: This switch puts the pedal into Fast mode, Rate 1 still has control over the speed of the chorus by Rate 2 and Drift both become inactive and the chorus will stay at a steady rate. The speed range is increased substantially and can get into ring mod territory if turned up fairly high. This switch is also equipped with smart relay based switching and can be tapped or held for latching or momentary activation. This is great for momentarily changing the rate of the chorus!
